Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing

 

This test is used to evaluate the function of a portion of the auditory nerve, which carries information from the ear to the brain. The test takes about 30 minutes to perform. The patient is asked to rest quietly on a bed while sounds are presented to each ear and the response is recorded.
