Dust Mite Allergens

Your house dust may contain thousands of microscopic dust mites. Many people are allergic to their waste products and decomposed body parts. Dust mites feed on the dead skin that we shed. They thrive anywhere we spend time: mattresses, pillows, carpeting and blankets. Your mattress alone may contain 200,000 mites.
Dust mite populations grow when temperatures and humidity rise, but they are intolerant of high heat.
